Job Description

  • Daily Bank Reconciliation
  • Cut all checks for Payroll and Accounts Payable
  • Oversee Logistics, Purchasing, Accounting, and Front Desk.
  • Pay all payroll taxes and file payroll forms (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
  • Take care of the phone and internet system and keep up all office supplies
  • Worker’s Comp Audit (interim and/or annually)
  • Handle month end activities
    • Zinc LME price recorded daily in spreadsheet
    • Coke inventory recorded
    • WZO invoices and inventory recorded
    • Completed construction in process file and spare parts file
    • Enter Prepaid Insurance amounts to expense and deduct from Balance      sheet
    • Enter Prepaid LOC amounts to expense and deduct from Balance Sheet
    • Enter Depreciation amounts to expense and deduct from Balance Sheet
    • Enter Amortization amounts to expense and deduct from Balance Sheet
    • Natural gas invoice is obtained calling Lamar Gas
    • Estimate for electric bill is prepared
  • Estimate EAF & WZO freight
    • Reconcile bank accounts
    • Get total produced / sold / received / fed to kilns
  • Complete month end spreadsheets
  • Transfer Pricing study (annually)
  • Year End Audit work

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Requirements:

  • 5/7 years Accounting experience.
  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English & understand math.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work at other US Aggregates locations as needed.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Self-motivation and team orientation
  • Problem solving skills
  • Computer skills, including experience in Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to plan and organize relevant activities on both a short term and long-term basis
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Computer competency is required
  • Ability to finish work assignments completely and on time
  • Positive attitude in working with others inside and outside the organization
