Material Technician Group Leader
JOB SUMMARY:
The Material Technician Group Leader is a hybrid role that will work with, and report directly to, the Material Technician Supervisor. This role will coordinate activities of workers engaged in working with the vacuum truck along with loading and unloading trucks and railcars.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for performing all duties and activities to create a safe and environmentally compliant workplace that produces high quality products in a cost-efficient manner.
- Must perform all duties and activities in a manner that is aligned with our company values: Integrity, Humility, Innovation, Openness to Change, Collaboration, Excellence, and Customer Focus.
- Responsible for proper use of WSP’s vacuum truck along with personnel.
- Will be responsible for ensuring proper shift coverage for Material Technicians with the Material Technician Supervisor.
- Will be responsible for all equipment maintenance checklists (Trackmobile, Loader, Vac. Truck, Polaris SxS, Skid Steer, DCL) within the Material Technician’s group.
- Work with Material Technician Supervisor to establish and maintain organization and coverage within the department.
- Responsible for following and enforcing all policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate with Logistics, Lab., and management team for a continuous flow within the department.
- Train new employees in job duties, specifically in function specific tasks.
- Responsible for documenting employee training through WSP’s training sheets.
- Ability to check and complete designated paperwork with high degree of accuracy.
- Help in implementing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to work additional assigned hours including weekends.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- A positive attitude with a customer focus is a must.
- Effective communication and people skills. Must be able to lead/manage a small group of team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be self-motivated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must complete and maintain all respirator training and certification.
- Must complete and maintain all EHS & equipment operator training and certifications.
- Must complete and maintain any additional assigned company required training and certifications.
- Ability to learn and apply all required training in a safe and efficient manner.
- Basic knowledge and use of writing and arithmetic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to wear respirator.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. at waist level for short durations.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, push, or pull for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions.
